My name is Kara Boughton and this is my 16th year working as a Special Education Teacher. After graduating from Addison High School, I attended Michigan State University where I received my degree in Special Education. I completed earned my MA in Literacy Instruction in 2005, also from Michigan State. My first three years of teaching were on Mackinac Island, working with students in PreK-12. I returned to my home town of Jackson in 2004 and have been teaching at East Jackson ever since. My husband and I live in Marshall on a farm where we have beef cattle, soybeans, and corn. We also have an Australian Shepherd named Kenzie and a cat named Tulip.
