Classroom Notes

Physical Education (9-12)

During this one-semester course that is required for graduation, students will be pre-tested and post-tested on a variety of fitness components. I will be measuring their overall cardiovascular fitness, strength, and flexibility. The mile run, dot drill, step test, pull-ups, curl-ups and sit and reach test are among the components to be used. Students will participate in team sports and individual sports, and they will be expected to perform skill tests in a variety of team sports. Senior students will gain the experience of officiating and directing some group games.

Physical Education (7-8)

In this class, students will participate in a variety of team sports, such as flag football, basketball, floor hockey, softball, speedball, team handball, soccer and whiffleball. Individual sports, including table tennis, pickle-ball and badminton, will also be taught. Students will learn how to climb the rockwall and to use the weight room properly. We will follow the presidential physical fitness standards and will give the students two opportunities to try to pass this fitness test.
