I was born and raised here in Jackson/Michigan Center. I graduated from Jackson Baptist High School in 1987 (Now Jackson Christian). Growing up, I always knew that I wanted to become a teacher someday. I graduated from Spring Arbor College (now University) in 1996 with my teaching degree.
I have been teaching for over 23 years. I have taught pre-school, Kindergarten, 1st grade and 1st/2nd grade multi-age. I have been an educator here at East Jackson since 2010. I love teaching for all the “little” reasons. 
I am married to my wonderful husband, Bruce. He is the Pastor at The Refuge Bible Church. We are blessed with five children. Jacquelynn, Bruce Jr., Candice, and Bree our youngest daughter are married. So we are also blessed with 4 bonus kids, their spouses. Our youngest son, Noah is a Senior this year at Michigan Center. We also have five granddaughters and one grandson. They are just the sweetest and oh so much fun.
I enjoy working alongside my husband in the church ministry, spending time with family and friends, watching my son play sports, shopping; especially at my favorite store, Hobby Lobby, and scrapbooking.
