We are entering the 2022-23 school year and I look forward to establishing success with our students during the year. To our outstanding parents, I greatly appreciate the opportunity to educate your child and appreciate the support you have given East Jackson and myself as we begin the new year!

We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential. We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our children need support from both the home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education.

If you have any questions about your student's IEP, contact Ms. Jurado or myself. We will soon begin with IEP's. We will contact parents 2-3 weeks in advance to set up a time on a specific date to go over individual education plans. The IEP's will run anywhere from 30-45 minutes. Within a week, parents will receive the full IEP documents either in the mail or given to students to be brought home. There is a breakdown of IEP information under my "Home" tab.

This year's set-up in our special education department includes Ms. Jurado, who will be teaching 8th-grade special education students. I will teach mostly 7th grades with a few 8th graders mixed in. My schedule includes special education language arts, math, ILH, high school algebra, and team-taught social studies classes. Anytime you have questions or concerns regarding your student’s academic progress or IEP, please feel free to contact me.

A few things about myself. I have been teaching at East Jackson for twenty years, all in special education. When I'm not in the classroom I can be found assisting in many ways for East Jackson Secondary School.

In my spare time, I enjoy traveling with my wife, spending time with my family, and reading a good book. My family enjoys taking cruises to different locations around the world and are extremely big fans of Walt Disney World! I'm looking forward to a wonderful school year. GO TROJANS!
