I am super excited to be joining your child on their educational journey. This is an exciting time for your child and an important part of setting up future success in school. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Jessica Arnold and I will be your child’s teacher for this school year here at East Jackson Elementary. I am a Jackson native and Jackson High School graduate. From there I went on to Lansing Community College and Jackson Community College to earn an Associate of Arts. I transferred to Spring Arbor University where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies with a focus on Elementary and Middle School Education. I have a wonderful step-son Petey! We have a crazy canine, Reese's (a mini dachshund), a feisty calico kitten named Bella, and a bearded dragon named Repto. In my free time I enjoy going out to restaurants, attending concerts, and sporting events (especially watching Petey play baseball and basketball). Last but not least, I am a frog fanatic!!!
I look forward to getting to know each student and supporting them in their learning. You as a parent, are a child’s original teacher. You are the greatest influence in their lives. Therefore, I would like to invite you to let me know a little about your child by writing me a note or sending an email that describes your child. How would you describe him or her as a learner and as a person? What are the things that you as a parent know would be important for me to know? Communication is the key to success at school. Students are much more successful when parents and teachers work together, and I look forward to working with each of you. I will be communicating with you daily using the student agendas. It is my hope that you will also check agendas daily and sign them each night. I will also communicate via newsletters, e-mail, website, text messages with the Remind app (free for smart phones) and phone calls. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns by phone at 517-764-1810, by e-mail at email@example.com , message me on Remind, or by writing me a note in the student agenda.
I appreciate your participation in your child’s education, it truly makes a difference. It is going to be a fabulous year!
P.S. Being a new school year we do have a wish list. Room 119 would love to be able to "battle the bug" before it starts with donations of Lysol, Clorox wipes and Kleenex. Thank you for your help and support!
Dream it! Believe it! Achieve it!
