Welcome to the 2017/2018 school year! This marks my 19th year of teaching at East Jackson Secondary School. I've enjoyed teaching in the Resource Room as well as in the Mild Cognitive Impaired program. I earned an Associate's Degree in Child Care, a Bachelor's Degree in Cognitive Impairments, and a Master's Degree in Learning Disabilities. I've been living in this area with my family for the past 20 years. Both of my sons graduated from East Jackson Community Schools. I served in the U.S. Army after high school graduation for four years as an X-ray Technician and Army Medic, securing the GI Bill for college.
My mission is to develop students with active and creative minds, a sense of understanding and compassion for others, and the courage to act on their beliefs. I stress the total development of each student: intellectual, social, emotional and physical.
