Hello East Jackson Families, my name is Sadie Fritz! I am excited to be teaching 4th grade this year. This is my second year at East Jackson, but I have been in education for the last 10 years. I will be teaching 4th grade Science and Math, as well as reading and spelling to my home room!
I have my Masters in Education from Grand Canyon University and my Bachelors of Science from Michigan State University! Go Green!
In my free time, I love to read and spend time with my three children and my pets. We enjoy traveling, reading, crafting and spending time with our animals.

Classroom Notes

Hello and Welcome to 4th Grade! I am excited to share this year of learning with you. I believe that if we all work together, we can ensure student success. In this letter, you will see my expectations outlined for students, parents, and myself. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

CHAMPS Expectations
This year, East Jackson Elementary will continue to utilize the CHAMPS program school-wide. Conversation, Help, Activity, Movement Participation = Success. This program gives the students clear and specific expectations for all activities during the school day, whether it is walking in the hallway, on the playground or in the classroom.

CHAMPS is a way for students to know what is expected of them at all times. These expectations include their voice level, how they should ask for help, what the activity is that they are working on, what movement is allowed during the activity, and how they should be participating. When students are using the proper CHAMPs expectations we will achieve success!

Student Expectations:
Follow the school rules:
Be Respectful.
Be Responsible.
Be Safe.
Use class time wisely.
Be kind and helpful to classmates.
Do your best on all of your work.
Master basic math facts.
Turn work in on time.
Keep their materials organized and neat.
Come to school ready to learn!

Consequences for not following expectations:
First students will be reset or given a reminder of the expectation.
Students will then be spoken to privately about their behavior.
After these steps, students will have to practice the correct behavior or lose recess/privileges.
I will call home if your student is continuing to exhibit the behavior or failing to meet the expectations.
If the behavior continues, students will be referred to the office.

Parent Expectations:
Work with the teacher as a team to support student learning.
Provide a quiet place for work to be completed at home.
Encourage reading at home! Only 20 minutes a day makes a HUGE difference!
Practice math facts with your child on a nightly basis until mastered.
Sign student’s agenda every night after discussing the day with your child.
Make sure your child gets enough sleep and has a good breakfast before or at school.
Check Power School consistently to see your child’s progress.
Contact the teacher if you have any concerns regarding your child.
Have high expectations for your child.
Celebrate successes with your child.

Teacher Expectations:
Provide a safe, structured learning environment.
Hold students accountable for their learning.
Teach the 4th grade learning standards.
Provide direction for individualized student growth.
Contact parents with any academic and/or behavioral concerns.
Check agendas for parent initials, signatures, and notes.
Respond to parent communication in a timely fashion.
Update grades in PowerSchool weekly.
