Teacher Biography

I have been teaching at East Jackson Jackson Schools for 30 years and serve as the ELA department chair. After graduating from Napoleon High School, I attended Saint Mary's Notre Dame in South Bend, IN, where I majored in English Literature and minored in Economics and Education. My M.A. degree is from EMU in English Literature with continuing credits in Education from Marygrove and Ohio Wesleyan (Humanities). My favorite studies include Holocaust education with an emphasis on human rights, humanism, and of course, Shakespeare. I also enjoy teaching dance and theater.

In my spare time I enjoy boating, water skiing, yoga and attending sporting events of all kinds.

Classroom Notes

I look forward to working with my East Jackson High School students this year. In addition to teaching English, I also am advisor to NHS and can be a helpful resource for the SAT and other college preparatory needs. I can be reached at or through the high school phone service at 764-1700. I also use Schoology for certain assignments and all documents can be shared through the Schoology platform or sent to my email in the form of a google doc. Don’t hesitate to email or call. Leave a detailed message and I will be sure to reply ASAP. Go Trojans!
