Teacher Biography
Hello Students and Families,
I have an Associate Degree in Business from Henry Ford College and a Bachelor in Elementary Education, minoring in Mathematics, from Baker College of Jackson.
I am going on my 13th year working with East Jackson Elementary School. I began my teaching career as a student teacher, moved into an upper elementary Title 1 Instructional Assistant, and finally landed as a 6th Grade Language Arts Teacher.
I have a very active home life with 4 children who keep that sparkle in my life. My hobbies include watching movies, reading, bowling, and traveling.
Classroom Notes
As the oldest students in our building, 6th graders will build independence, self-confidence, achieve academic goals, and gain responsibility. These are given through opportunities of a Student Council, Student Connects, Band, Explorer, and WIN (What I Need), all in preparation for their transition into 7th grade of middle school.
It’s going to be a great year at East Jackson Elementary School!
