Why is the Bond proposal important to our school district?
In the State of Michigan, unlike surrounding states, school funding (State Aid) is to be used for educational needs of the students and not intended for large capital improvements. Since Proposal A was passed in 1993, school funding has greatly changed. Property taxes were significantly lowered and major facility projects going forward are done with local voter approval.
